On April 28, several Mount students got together in the Commons area at the Mount's Gardner campus to celebrate and listen to poetry from the new literary magazine that just came out.

"We are here to celebrate this new magazine," said Michelle Valois, professor of English and advisor to the magazine.

This year the magazine has gotten a makeover and a new name. The editors of the magazine have changed the name from iMagazine to A Certain Slant. Although the magazine did get a makeover, Valois still read from past magazines in the beginning of the event saying, "There's always been great writing in the inside."

Another thing that is different this year is that the magazine will no longer be free. At the event there was a corner where people could buy the magazine. "Five dollars a pop," said Valois. "Not much, less than a pack of cigarettes and a lot healthier."

Students who had their work published in the magazine read their poems and short stories including Julian Fox, Robert Gosselin, Clayton Morse, Sarah Maichel, and Sarah Linstrom Linstrom also took the photograph that is featured on the cover.

Submissions can come from anyone who goes to the Mount and though the deadline has passed for this year's edition, material for next year can be submitted at any time to marleys_ghost@yahoo.com.
