I've been on the hunt for an upbeat restaurant with a friendly but loud atmosphere to kick back, enjoy a nice juicy steak, and an ice cold drink. I'm tired of those steakhouses that are calm and conservative, feeling like you're at a coffee shop eating steak with a beer. I want a restaurant that has a loud atmosphere and it feels like you are not the only one having a good time. Going out to dinner isn't an everyday experience for me, but after finding the Texas Roadhouse, I have no choice, but to go out more often on Saturday nights.

The Texas Roadhouse is a western-style restaurant chain known for ribs, steaks, and other American style dinners. The full service restaurant was founded by Kent Taylor in Clarksville, Indiana, in 1993 and currently has about 155 locations nationwide. Texas Roadhouse teamed up with famous country singer Willie Nelson to help with promotions. Through-out the restaurant you will see many items or posters representing Nelson. Even some of Nelson's favorite mixed drinks are on the menu.

The first thing that caught my attention upon walking in the entrance was all the hundreds of thousands of peanut shells sprinkled across the floor like a circus. There are huge keg size barrels all over the restaurant filled with peanuts for any person to enjoy and not worry about cleaning up the mess afterwards. As you sit in the dining room or the bar, you are surrounded by wood and the aroma of big juicy steaks and ribs.

The interior of the restaurant features lots of wood from the tables to the booth to the bar. Country music pours through your ears like you were at a ho-down. Watch closely and every half hour you may see the waitresses dancing their hearts out to the country music.

Overall, I found Texas Roadhouse to be an excellent experience, from the first moment walking in and seeing peanut shells covering the ground like a fresh blanket of snow, to the Willie Nelson mixed drinks and fresh ribs that fall off the bones with a small nibble of the mouth. This is a traditional all American restaurant with prices that are fair and service that is above friendly. I am more than confident you will enjoy the western food, drinks, desserts, and comfort of the Texas Roadhouse.

It's a good place to relax, sit back, have a drink or two and watch some sports or maybe some waitresses dancing to country. Check out Texas Roadhouse, located on Route 117 in Leominster.
