Every great club or organization should have officers who support its views and the International Club definitely has that with co- President Faheem Muhammad who said, "No one's excluded everyone's welcome."

Muhammad is a 22 year old Computer Information System major and plans on transferring to Wentworth Institute of Technology after graduating from the Mount. He currently lives in Athol but he is originally from Boston. Muhammad said he was homeschooled as a child and took his GED test at the Mount and that is part of what affected his decision to attend the college here. Affordability and being close to home were other factors.

Muhammad, second year student at the Mount, was first asked to join at his freshman orientation by persistent club members. Upon joining, Muhammad said he was shy and horrible at public speaking. "Once I got involved I met a lot of people through the club," said Muhammad. He is also doing much better at Public Speaking. He is getting practice at his public speaking skills being co-President of the Club with Vanessa Lynch.

Muhammad said his favorite part of being in the club so far has been the trips they have taken. Through these trips he has gotten to know many people and learn about their cultures.

The club has visited places like Boston and New York City in the past and is planning a trip to Martha's Vineyard this semester. Muhammad said the club even got to see the end of filming for the movie Hancock while in New York. "Come with the International Club and you will see something special," said Muhammad.

When asked what multicultural means, Muhammad defined it as a person whose parent moved to the U.S. and became a citizen. Since becoming a member, Muhammad has met many of multicultural people and learned about their culture.

The co-President also said that there is more fundraising planned for the spring semester along with more fun and trips.
