Essex St., Chinatown
Asian Crafts is the perfect place to waste an hour looking at jade Buddhas and silk fans-all at discounted prices. It's a tourist trap, so you have to work around the junk to find the real treasures: birdbaths and old school Pokémon memorabilia.

In a country that stands for freedom, the defining line between a supposed "God-given" right and a mere privilege is one that is often blurred. Freedom of speech, press and religion are basic rights that we are promised in our constitution, but when does political correctness become insensitivity? This is a question that has been brought up again and again in modern day politics, and it is being revisited once more with the most recent controversy that is the "Ground Zero Mosque".

Over the summer, newly elected Student Government President Muhuri has found himself on the receiving end of accusations centered on egocentrism, rogue maneuvering, and abuse of position. The catalyst for such claims is predicated on a string of independent decisions made by the president regarding the remodeling and reallocation of office space used by student-life organizations, including The Unfiltered Lens.

Because as corny as it may sound to you all, who I'm sure are trying to appear with some semblance of coolness (as I did myself in 2007), our community is genuinely happy to have you here.
